The Role

A well-established civil engineering contractor based in Leeds is looking for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join their growing infrastructure team. You will take technical ownership of projects from design through to construction, working on highways, drainage and earthworks schemes across Yorkshire and the wider North of England.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven civil engineer looking to step up into a senior position with a company that genuinely invests in its people and offers a clear progression path to Principal Engineer level.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical delivery on civil engineering projects including highways, drainage and earthworks

  • Produce and review detailed designs, drawings and specifications

  • Manage junior engineers and provide technical guidance across the team

  • Liaise with clients, contractors and local authorities throughout the project lifecycle

  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, codes of practice and health and safety requirements

  • Attend site visits and provide technical support during construction phases

  • Contribute to bids, proposals and technical reports


Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent (BEng or MEng)

  • Minimum 6 years UK civil engineering experience

  • Strong design experience in highways, drainage or earthworks

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D

  • NEC3/4 contract experience preferred

  • Chartered or working towards chartership (ICE or CIHT) advantageous

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Right to work in the United Kingdom
